Quick and Easy Crafts Make Great Gifts
I enjoy crafting in many different mediums such as sewing, machine embroidery, paper crafts, home DIY etc. As a result, I spend a lot of time doing careful planning, preparation, and actual crafting. But I love quick and easy crafts too. It’s very satisfying to take an idea from start to finish without sprouting a few new gray hairs. Every now and then I get an idea for something fun and it all just comes together. But other times, I need to dig deep for inspiration.
What can you do if you need inspiration? Just start. Even if you don’t know what you’ll create yet, dig into your supplies, and look at photos of projects you’ve done in the past for inspiration. You can look at color pallets, Pin Boards, go for a walk and scope out the neighbor’s flower garden or check out patterns in your wardrobe. Trust me, inspiration is everywhere if you just pay attention.
A personalized gift can make your recipient feel extra special because you put in that little extra effort for them. But you don’t need to feel like you have to devote a serious chunk of your life to creating the perfect gift. You’re a crafter! Get creative! You can do this.
- Think about the gift recipient. Who are they and what do they like?
- Think about your skill set and what you like to make.
- Check your supplies. What do you have and what do you like working with?

After digging through my supply stash, I found a pack of blank hats I bought on clearance several months ago. Blank ball cap + personalized embroidery and I think I have a hit!! Something thoughtful, personalized and quick and easy. In total it took me about 15 minutes from start to finish. I’m happy with how it came and I think he will be too.
Quick and easy doesn’t mean “not thoughtful”. Using supplies and tools you already have doesn’t mean cheap, it means working smart and being able to give gifts from the heart.
